A successful applicant must have completed their high school graduation (dogwood) or equivalent. You can email a digital copy of this documentation to admissions@vcmt.ca.
- International students, or students who have completed their education in a language other than English, will need to have their transcripts officially translated. It may also be required to provide an evaluation of equivalency to BC academic standards. This can be done through an ICES (International Credential Evaluation Service) through BCIT, World Education Services (wes.org) or similar evaluation service.
- Post-secondary degrees or courses are considered advantageous for an application and may be submitted as part of a portfolio.
Strong English skills in reading, writing, listening, and speaking are essential for this program. You must have achieved a minimum of 70% in English 12. If that standard wasn’t achieved, or if your education was completed in a language other than English, the English Standard can be met through one of the following ways:

- Complete an approved college/university English course in a country where English is the principal language with a minimum grade of 70%; or
- Successfully complete 2 years of full-time studies at an English-speaking college/university; or

- A copy of their Photo ID. This may be a driver’s license, ID card or passport.
Your portfolio may contain supportive documentation or evidence indicating your level of readiness and commitment to complete the RMT training program successfully. It may include post-secondary degrees, transcripts, certifications or courses. It can also include relevant work experience, volunteer experience, reference letters, and/or resumes. Any portfolio documentation that an applicant wishes to submit may be emailed to the Director of Admissions at admissions@vcmt.ca.
Once the application form, academic transcripts and portfolio documents have been submitted, the Director of Admissions will be in contact to schedule a one-hour application interview. The interview is intended to determine the fit of an applicant. This program is strenuous, and as such, it’s pivotal to understand the readiness of an applicant to ensure their success.
The Introduction to Massage Weekend Workshop must be completed prior to starting the program. Completion of a similar course at another school may be accepted. Provide this documentation to the VCMT admissions for confirmation.
Note: Final decisions regarding the suitability of a candidate rest fully with VCMT and its admissions representatives. Entrance into the program is competitive, so academic experience at the post-secondary level is highly recommended to strengthen an application. VCMT takes into account the gpa of an applicant’s academics to determine readiness for the program.
Admissions can be reached via email at admissions@vcmt.ca or by phone at 604-681-4450 ext. 303. They’re happy to answer any questions about the RMT program or the application process.
